Dafi Altabeb

Dafi Altabeb is the recipient of the 2012, 2013 & 2016 Excellence Award for young choreographers from the Israeli Ministry of Culture and the Israeli Ministry of Culture performance award in 2018 with the piece “It’s Now,It’s Never”. She received the 2014 Rozenblum Award for Excellence from the Municipality of Tel-Aviv.

She graduated from the "Kibutzim College of Education" with a B.Ed. and Teaching Diploma specializing in composition and EW Movement Notation. 

Altabeb is the artistic director of Dafi Dance Company and works collaboratively with Nini Moshe, her life partner. The vCompany is supported by The Dance Division of the Israeli Ministry of Culture, The lottery council, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tel Aviv Municipality, The Rabinovich Foundation and more. 

In 2019, she was selected as guest teacher at the dance department of Emory University in Atlanta / USA by the Israeli Institute, as part of their professional artist exchange program; there she also created a new piece for the EDC, called “It’s not a pipe”.

Throughout 2020, Dafi Altabeb Dance Company performed around Israel with adapted versions of the company’s running pieces, in alignment with the health and distance regulations in regards to the Covid 19 Pandemic. Dafi also initiated and established an interactive online course for nonprofessional dance lovers, ages 50 +, “Moving For All”. 

In 2022 she has been commissioned by the Theater der Jungen Welt in Leipzig / Germany to create a local version of her duet Soon We’ll Make Lots Of Love. In 2024, she will be creating a new work for students at the Palucca Dance School in Dresden / Germany. 

Nini Moshe is a multidisciplinary professional filmmaker, writer, director, editor and cinematographer. He graduated from Beit – Berl School of arts, at the film department. He works for high-end projects in the Israeli film industry as a cinematographer and editor. His latest project as a cinematographer: “To his eyes only- the politics of the Mosad” directed & produced by Amit Goren.

He is currently working on a full-length feature film script about a boyhood journey to Sodom mountain questing Lot’s Wife Pillar. He is the Director of Dafi Dance Company and a co-creator in the company’s pieces. In 2012 Moshe and Altbeb created their first full-length piece "Sensitivity to Heat". The piece was commissioned to premiere at The Dance and Theater Festival in Naples (Italy), and at the Ravello Music Festival (Italy). Since then, they continued collaborating, creating the company’s pieces together.  

In 2021 Nini Moshe co created, filmed and edited the dance film When Are You Coming Back Home for Dafi Dance Company – a commission work by the American Dance Festival.

Dafi Dance Company Collaborates with highly skilled freelance dancers – each performing in one or more of the group’s running pieces. The Company is regularly performing around Israel & abroad.

Alongside the performances, it holds workshops, master classes, Lecture demonstrations as well as annual educational courses for professional dancers, beginners & students.

Dafi Altbabeb is also creating original productions for festivals and theaters abroad, initiates outreach activities as well as international collaborations. The company is part of the Israeli Choreographers Association and supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture, Tel Aviv Municipality, The Rabinovich Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
